Philadelphia Film Fest Reviews: STORM and STRANDED

As the Philadelphia Film Festival winds down later on tomorrow (Tuesday), time spent seeing movies gives way to time for writing about what we've seen over the last twelve days. Rest assured over the next several days there will be many more reviews of films that are starting the festival circuit or will be making their way into general releases over the coming months. Here's two reviews to get things rolling.

The first film is Storm, a Swedish action film that owes a lot to The Matrix. But is that a good thing or a bad thing? Click on the link to find out...

For our second review, we're joined by our guest Michael McGonigal, who takes a look at the documentary Stranded: I've Just Come From A Plane That Crashed In The Mountains.... Michael lectures on film at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and is a great guy to boot. I've gotten to know him over the course of the past couple of festivals, and even if we diagree on a film, I've found his opinions to well thought out and informed. Click here to see what he has to say about this look at the true story that inspired the movie Alive.

You can find an index to all of the FilmBuffOnLine coverage of the 2008 Philadelphia Film Festival here.
