Philadelphia Film Festival Reviews: JESUS, THE SPIRIT OF GOD and MONGOL

While Genghis Khan and Jesus are probably two historical personages one seldom finds linked together, they are are related in the fact that both their lives have significantly impacted the world as we know it.

Mongol, from Russian director Sergei Bodrov and the Iranian production Jesus, The Spirit Of God both present views of their subject that aren't normally seen by Western eyes. Mongol covers the early life of the tribal chieftain who will come to be known as Genghis Khan. Jesus, The Spirit Of God gives us the life of Jesus as told from the viewpoint of Islamic tradition, a Muslim version of The Passion Of The Christ, if you will.
