DVD News: ERIK THE CONQUEROR

Tim Lucas, the man who has literally written THE book on the films of Mario Bava*, has announced on his blog, Video WatchBlog, that in addition to contributing a full length commentary track to Anchor Bay’s forthcoming release of Bava’s Erik The Conqueror (1961), he has also contributed a 28-minute audio interview that Lucas did with the film’s star Cameron Mitchell in 1989. While unusre of how all the material will be presented, Lucas believes that the disc’s producers will mix some of it into his audio commentary track but have the majority of it available as a separate feature.

Amazon lists a release date of August 28, but Lucas’ post states an October release.

*Mario Bava: All The Colors Of The Dark runs an all-encompassing 1128 pages and weighs in at around 12 pounds! It can ordered here.
