With production on Zack Snyder’s Superman film, Man Of Steel, moving into studios in Vancouver, most people thought that that would mark the end of unofficial looks at the cast in costume for the superhero movie. Fortunately, that turned out to be wrong, thanks to a Daily Mail photographer who scored a couple of shots of Russell Crowe in costume as Superman’s Kryptonian father Jor-El.
I like that the costume hints at his son’s more famous duds with the classic “S Shield,” cape and the blue sleeve poking out of the grey robe. It’s a nice indication of how Superman will incorporate his Kryptonian heritage into his life.
As for how the costume looks on screen, we’ll have to wait until it gets closer to the film’s June 2013 release. Joining Russell in the cast are Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Antje Traue as Faora, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick and Christopher Meloni as Col. Hardy.
