FilmBuffOnline » Trailer For The Complete Movie Fan Wed, 01 Jul 2015 17:04:29 +0000 en-US hourly 1 New Red Band Trailer For TED 2 Features Thunder Buddies For Life Tue, 02 Jun 2015 22:11:56 +0000 Ted-2-car

Universal has just released a new trailer for their upcoming Seth MacFarlane comedy Ted 2, and as it is a red band trailer you might want to slip on the headphones if you happen to be at work. This new clip, just over a minute in length, doesn’t really reveal any of the film’s plot, it just showcases a number of gags from the film, many not seen in previously released trailers.

In this sequel, living teddy bear Ted (voiced by MacFarlane) and his wife Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) want to start a family, but once they realize that Ted can’t reproduce naturally he and best friend John (Mark Wahlberg) set off on a string of misadventures to rectify that problem.

MacFarlane may have stumbled a bit with his sophomore film A Million Ways To Die In The West, but I am still looking forward to the follow up to his debut feature film when it opens June 26.

Final Trailer For THE DEATH OF ‘SUPERMAN LIVES’ Doc Mon, 20 Apr 2015 23:22:44 +0000 BurtonSupermanLives

Right about now, some lucky fans are seeing the theatrical premier of the trailer for Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, even though we are still roughly a year off from the film arriving in theaters. If you are hoping to see the Man of Steel on the big screen a bit sooner, director Jon Schnepp’s documentary The Death Of Superman Lives: What Happened? will be going into a limited release on May 1. The film takes a deep dive into Tim Burton’s attempt to bring Superman to the big screen in the 1990s with the unlikely casting of Nick Cage in the role of Clark Kent/ Superman. This latest, and final, trailer for the film continues the teasing of an inordinate of the material developed during the project’s pre-production phase before studio Warner Brothers pulled the plug. If you don’t happen to live near one of the selected theaters getting the film, it will be released via streaming, DVD, blu-ray, and Video On Demand outlets.

New FANTASTIC FOUR Trailer Hints At A Tolerable Movie Sun, 19 Apr 2015 20:58:21 +0000 FantasticFourDoom

Know what’s a good way to get your trailer overlooked? Release it the same week that the trailers for two other, much more anticipated films release trailers of their own. So kudos on that, Twentieth Century Fox, for releasing a new look at director Josh Trank’s upcoming Fantastic Four film the same weekend when everyone is talking about Star Wars: The Force Awaken and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

And in a way, it is kind of a pity, because for me at least this is the first indication that the film will not be a complete trainwreck. Sure, it looks as if the tone is too dark and gritty compared to the comic book series source material, but there are brief hints that some chemistry and interplay between the four heroes – Reed Richards (Miles Teller), Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan), Sue Storm (Kate Mara) and Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell) – might actually exist. We also get our first official look at Toby Kebbell‘s Victor Domashev a.k.a. Doctor Doom. But even on a weekend where we wouldn’t have had two other more anticipated trailers that this would indeed pale in comparison against, this new look does excite so much as it generates a begrudging feeling that person this film won’t be such the cinematic equivalent of root canal surgery that all reports have been leading us to believe. Probably just a regular tooth scraping and cleaning. Either way though, it is still feels like a trip to the dentist.

Second Official Teaser For STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Drops Thu, 16 Apr 2015 18:40:05 +0000 StarWarsForceAwakensLogoThis seems to be the week for second trailers from sci-fi properties dropping, doesn’t it? And, arguably, this is the most exciting.

As part of the Star Wars Celebration currently going on at the Anaheim Convention Center, a brand new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released. Here it is in all its glory:

I’m not going to spoil it, but as a fanboy, that last scene made me very very happy. And, as a cynical man, I have to say that we are seeing John Boyega’s character in a Stormtrooper’s outfit, all sweaty and out of breath, a lot in this film.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 18th, 2015.

New TERMINATOR: GENISYS Can’t Even Generate Excitement With Spoilers Mon, 13 Apr 2015 21:00:07 +0000 Terminator_Genisys

Today must be the day for “meh” movie trailers. Earlier today Marvel Studios released their first full trailer for the upcoming Ant-Man and it didn’t really impress our Comic Book Film Editor William Gatevackes. Now it is the second full trailer for Terminator: Genisys to fail to leave an impression. The new trailer gives out a lot more information on the film’s twisty time-travel plot. Actually, it may be too much information as there’s plot point revealed that seems like a pretty bi spoiler from late in the film, so you may want to steer clear if you would rather go into the film with as little foreknowledge as possible.

Terminator: Genisys opens July 1st and stars Emilia Clarke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Byung-hun Lee, Matt Smith, Dayo Okeniyi, and Courtney B. Vance.

Full ANT-MAN Trailer Hits The Internet Mon, 13 Apr 2015 17:59:54 +0000 Antman screen grabIt seems that the legions of faithful that made Marvel Studios a box office juggernaut are still reserving judgment on Ant-Man. Instead of rushing to embrace the film as they do with many of the studio’s output, they are taking a “wait and see” philosophy to the film. Well, we got to see a little more of the film, as a new, full length trailer has been released:

Personally, while the last trailer got me excited for the film, this one left me a bit cold. For me, it comes down to an issue of tone. It doesn’t seem from the clip that Peyton Reed has struck the right balance between the humor and the rest of the film. I recognized the jokes when I saw them, but I didn’t really find them funny in context. And I am already sick of the “I didn’t pick the name” bit and its only been used in two trailers.

But I am a cynical old man. Your mileage may vary. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Fifth MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE Film Gets Subtitle, Trailer And A Poster Mon, 23 Mar 2015 15:36:04 +0000 mission-impossible-rogue-nation

Remember that sequence in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol where superspy Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) was repelling along the side of one of the world’s tallest buildings in Dubai and known that it was actually Cruise on the side of of that building and not a load of CGI trickery? Of course you do, it was a standout setpiece of the film. Well, if you were wondering how thy were going to top that sequence for the upcoming fifth Mission: Impossible film, the just released trailer and poster for the film offer a hint. Granted I don’t think that Cruise is actually hanging on the side of a plane, I tend to doubt that the film’s insurer would allow anything like that from happening. Still, it looks pretty exciting.

Joining Cruise for this new installment in the franchise are returning stalwarts Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Jeremy Renner as well as newcomers Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Simon McBurney, and Alec Baldwin. Mission: IMpossible – Rogue Nation hits theaters July 31st.

The Final AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Finally Unveils The Vision Thu, 05 Mar 2015 03:22:16 +0000 avengers-age-of-ultron-caps-helmet

One thing that Marvel Studios seems to have been holding back on in their advertisement of the upcoming The Avengers: Age Of Ultron has been a real good look at the android superhero The Vision whom we know will be in the film. Now, with just two months to go to the film’s release, the last trailer for the film finally gives us a look at the anticipated addition to the superhero team. Of course, it’s only about two seconds worth and you will need to sit through two minutes of new footage showing the Avengers in action, both together and separately. And that’s not such a bad price to pay, is it?

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron opens May 1.

Super Bowl Trailer: TED 2 Mon, 02 Feb 2015 03:48:29 +0000 Ted2

You have to admit that Seth MacFarland lucked out a bit when he included New England Patriots QB Tom Brady in the upcoming Ted 2 as it has given them a tailor-made Super Bowl commercial. The clip doesn’t give away too much of the film’s plot, the regular teaser trailer released last week does that. The online version does have an extra line or two that didn’t make it on the air for obvious reasons.

Super Bowl Trailer: TERMINATOR: GENISYS Mon, 02 Feb 2015 03:12:17 +0000 TerminatorGenisysArnold

In what might be the first real must-see movie of his post-gubernatorial career, Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to the Terminator franchise for another go-round as the unstoppable cyborg from the future. Up until now, I have always been of the belief that the first two installments of the Terminator franchise work perfectly together and the following two films have been utter wastes of time. Can Terminator: Genisys reverse that? We’ll find out in July.
