FilmBuffOnline » Trailer For The Complete Movie Fan Sun, 29 Jun 2014 02:40:49 +0000 en-US hourly 1 International GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Trailer Shows A Film You Might Actually Want To See Tue, 17 Jun 2014 20:53:01 +0000 GuardiansoftheGalaxyLogoHumor has always been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but always in measured doses and not in such a way that it takes away from the story. Guardians of the Galaxy appeared to change that trend, as every bit of promotional material they gave us seem to indicate that we’d be getting a film that more resembled Welcome Back, Kotter than The Avengers.

Thankfully, Marvel has released an international trailer for GotG, and this version seems more in line with their previous output:

Brendon Connolly over at Bleeding Cool thinks this trailer has a Firefly feel to it, which I can see.  And I also agree with him that this is a good thing.

I’m also tickled by there being more Rocket Raccoon in this version. It seems like Marvel realizes that Rocket is going to be the biggest thing to come out of this movie, and is playing that up.

KINGSMAN:THE SECRET SERVICE Trailer, Poster Hit The Internet Tue, 20 May 2014 23:31:54 +0000 kingsman-duoWith the precision of a military raid run by a secret government organization, the producers of Kingsman: The Secret Service have made a multi-front attack today as the opening salvo in their promotion of the movie.

The film, originally titled simply The Secret Service, tell the tale of a young British street thug who is welcomed into a James Bond-ish spy network. It is based on a comic book by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons and is brought to the screen by the same man who brought Millar’s Kick-Ass to the big screen, Matthew Vaughn.

Part one of the promotional blitz is the official trailer for the film, which you can see here:

Part two is an interview between the film’s star, Colin Firth, and Entertainment Weekly where the star gushes over the experience of working on the film. The interview comes with exclusive images from the fiolm:

Jackson. I love the fact that comic book adaptations are able to get two Oscar winners and an Oscar nominee in their casts.

And finally, we get a glimpse at the rather elegant teaser poster for the film:

They came on strong and definitely have got my attention. I’m sure we’ll get even more promotion before the film opens on October 24, 2014.

Marvel Studios released a new trailer for their upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy film this afternoon, and it includes a few things that fans of the comic series felt were lacking in the first trailer. This time around we get to hear the voices of the aliens Groot and Rocket. We also get a better mix of the humorous and adventurous tones that director James Gunn may be shooting for. We also get a few new shots of the film’s villain Ronan the Accuser.

Here it is, via the film’s Facebook page -

The film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Peter Serafinowicz, Michael Rooker, and Glenn Close. It opens on August 1st.

Second DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Trailer Brings More Dramatic, Epic Feel Thu, 08 May 2014 23:49:49 +0000 Dawnof thePlanetoftheApesLogo

The second full trailer for the upcoming Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes was released today. Well, actually two slightly different versions were released today – One for the US and one for international audiences. Both are below.

If you were impressed by the level of drama and serious storytelling that reboot Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes brought back to franchise back in 2011, it looks as if this latest installment will be upping the quotient this time. The trailers hint at some interesting themes that the movie could be exploring, which makes me more excited for the film’s July 11 release.

New GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Clip Shows Us…Nothing New Tue, 08 Apr 2014 21:46:23 +0000 GuardiansoftheGalaxyLogoI have to admit, I have serious reservations about Guardians of the Galaxy, and the latest exclusive footage released to MTV doesn’t quell these fears.

As part of MTV Movie Awards Takeover: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we were privy to a new GotG extended trailer(which is embedded below). What we got was essentially the trailer you already saw, but with the opening sequence of it expanded a little bit.

While MTV is trying to play the new footage up as being like Raiders of the Lost Ark (which others have parroted), outside of both protagonists stealing something off a pedestal, there isn’t much similarity between the two. The added footage gives us a look at Star-Lord’s boot rockets and mask (which were already on display during last year’s San Diego Comic Con), put on display during the character’s goofy escape from Korath (Djimon Hounsou). Then there is some footage of Star-Lord leaping across an alien landscape, then the rest of the trailer hits.

This is all well and good, but we still have no idea what the film is about. The GotG trailer ran before Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Joining it was the trailer for Lucy, the new Scarlett Johannson film which will arrive in theaters a week after GotG. That trailer told you enough about what was going on (ScarJo play an unwilling drug mule who gets superpowers when the experimental drug leaks into her system) that you can make a judgement about the film. The GotG trailer is basically exposition about the team members, a few random action scenes and explosions, and tells you nothing about the story. Is there a reason why Marvel is keeping it a secret?

Anyway, Guardians of the Galaxy opens up on August 1, 2014.

First Trailer For Michael Bay-Produced TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Thu, 27 Mar 2014 17:01:39 +0000 TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles

Paramount has released the first trailer for their new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and it has me scratching my head. ON one hand, it has all the dark, serious grittiness that producer Michael Bay wants to infuse his films with yet it does end with a comic beat that seems a bit incongruous with most of the preceding minute of footage. I am not exactly sure what audience Battle: LA director Jonathan Liebesman is striving to reach based on what we’re seeing here. Is it a more sophisticated take for older fans who grew up with the original Turtle movies/comics/cartoons from the 1980s and 1990s or is it for their children, a new generation of potential fans?

Hopefully we’ll find out more as it gets closer to the film’s August 8th premier.

New X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Brings The Mutant Action Mon, 24 Mar 2014 14:58:32 +0000 XMenDaysFuturePast

Two months to go before director Bryan Singer’s return to the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, hits the screens and Fox has released anew trailer for the film. Right off the bat, the 2 minute, 38 second clip sets up the film’s dark tone and time travel premise for those unfamiliar with the classic comics storyline on which it is based, both through some blatant dialogue and the more subtle dissolves between dystopian future Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian MMcKellen) and their past selves (James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender respectively). Once the preview kicks into high gear, we get glimpses of a number of mutant heroes and villains including Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Storm (Halle Berry), (Rogue) Anna Paquin, (Iceman) Shawn Ashmore, Colossus (Daniel Cudmore), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Blink (Fan Bingbing), Bishop (Omar Sy) and Quicksilver (Evan Peters). We also get to see our first look at the robotic Sentinels in action.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past opens May 23.

Images, Teaser Trailer For PEANUTS Released Tue, 18 Mar 2014 21:18:34 +0000 chuck andsnoopyIf you were like me, the Peanuts gang were a fundamental part of your life. You grew up reading the comic strips in your local paper, own books of collecting the strips that you read over and over again, and looked forward to every holiday for the annual TV show featuring that lovable cast of characters.

And if you are like me, you tend to view Hollywood’s insistence on revisiting these characters from you youth with a mix of cynicism and disdain because you know it won’t be the same as your memories, and the changes will only make things worse.

However, strangely enough, I’m not getting that feeling here. Granted, it is only two pictures and a short teaser trailer, but you can see that the makers of the 3-D animated version of Charles Shulz’s  famous creations took a painstaking amount of time to capture the look and feel of Shulz’s two-dimensional art in their final product, and seem to have captured the tone of the humor as well.

Take a look for yourself. One image is above, one below and at the bottom, the teaser.

Peanuts is set to arrive in theaters on November 6, 2015.

New GODZILLA Trailer Premieres Tue, 25 Feb 2014 18:43:51 +0000 godzilla-poster-1-405x600 I can say that I am the biggest Godzilla fan there ever was. So it’s not like I have a vested interest in seeing the latest remake of the storied franchise.

That is, before I saw the trailer embedded below.

Yes, another trailer for the Godzilla remake has arrived, and it has a lot to entice the doubters and the faithful into theaters. From the ominous music,to the sinister tone to self-referential lines of dialogue (“In 1954, we awakened something.” Even casual fans know that 1954 was the year the first Godzilla film was made) to shocking examples of the damage the monster can do to the fleeting glances at the monster itself, you have a lot to make people want to see the final product.

Godzilla opens on May 14, 2014.

New Trailer For NOAH Ups The Disaster Special Effects Tue, 25 Feb 2014 13:01:15 +0000 NoahCrowe

I am not sure yet if director Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming Biblical epic Noah is going to appeal to certain sectors of the religious community that normally go to movies or not. I know that Warner Brothers is and has been actively courting that audience, but they also tried the same thing with their Superman film Man Of Steel, though the results aren’t very clear. (They accentuated the Christ imagery in the film, though I do remember Jesus snapping anyone’s neck in the Gospels.) Will this targeted audience embrace or reject Aronofsky’s expanded version of the Biblical tale. We’ll find out when the film opens on March 28th. In the meantime, here’s a new trailer for the film starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly and Emma Watson from Universal Pictures’ Swiss You Tube account (via Bleeding Cool).
