In September 1941, Paramount Studios released the first in a series of cartoons featuring the exploits of the most popular fictional character of the day- the archetypal superhero Superman. Although the series ran only 17 installments over two years, the cartoons' visual style still influence both filmmakers and comic book creators today. We present a three part series that looks at creation of these classic animated shorts and each individual cartoon.
