2006 Achievement in Visual Effects

Contenders Announced

     December 16, 2005- The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that there are 7 films eligible to compete for the 2006 Achievement in Visual Effects Academy Award.

 

     Members of the Academy’s Visual Effects Award Nominating Committee will screen 15 minute clip reels from each of the seven films before voting to nominate three films for Academy Award consideration.

 

     The Academy Award nominations will be announced January 31, 2006.

 

     The eligible films are-

  • Batman Begins

  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

  • The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

  • King Kong

  • Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith

  • War of the Worlds
