New WATCHMEN Photo- The Minutemen!

It's a double dose of Watchmen news today. Earlier, we told you about how the graphic novel's "Tales Of The Black Freighter" segments were going to be animated and released on DVD just a few days after the movie hits theater screens next March. Now, courtesy of AintItCoolNews, we've got a new picture from the production, featuring The Minutemen, the first generation of costumed heroes in the world of Watchmen.

The Minutemen formed in 1939 and fought crooks, supervillains and Nazis for ten years before they disbanded. A generation later, two of the Minutemen, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre, will serve as the inspirations for new heroes of the same name. Another, The Comedian, would work for the government doing dirty, ultra top secret black ops missions until he is killed in 1985. His murder is the opening of the Watchmen graphic novel, and presumably the movie.

From left to right in the photo are Silhouette, Mothman, Dollar Bill, Nite Owl, Captain Metropolis, Silk Spectre, Hooded Justice and kneeling, The Comedian. Click to make bigger.

As I said before, the attention to detail that director Zack Snyder is lavishing on the film is impressive. But while looking at this picture, I was struck with a certain realization. Much like the Watchmen graphic novel deconstructed the superhero genre in comic book form, it looks as if Snyder is deconstructing the superhero movie. The costumes pictured here, while great translations of their four-color counterparts, recall the chintz, low budget look of superhero serials like Captain America and Spy Smasher from that era. The modern day Watchmen uniforms look more like the sculpted and padded outfits seen in more recent superhero movies. It should be interesting to see if Snyder has more thematic things like this up his sleeve.

Two Pictures From Soderbergh's Epic CHE Bio Pic

Here is a pair of pictures from Steven Soderbergh's upcoming two-part bio-pic Che, starring Benico del Toro as the South American Marxist revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara. The first of the films, The Argentine, covers the controversial figure's life up through the Cuban Revolution, while Guerrilla will cover Guevara's post-Cuban Revolution life as a leader of various third world Marxist uprisings.

Based on my own sketchy knowledge of Guevara’s life, I would hazard a guess that we’re looking at one picture from each of the two films.

Oddly enough, though, Focus Features has only picked up The Argentine for US distribution. Guerrilla is still looking for a distributor, though that could change after both films screen back-to-back at the Cannes Festival later this week.

New QUANTUM OF SOLACE Photos

Daniel Craig's iteration of James Bond may be a little rougher hewn than his predecessors, but he's certainly quick on the uptake on how to look suave under the most trying circumstances. Take this photo, one of a number of new images from the still in production upcoming Bond adventure Quantum Of Solace, that appeared over at Cinematical. Here, he looks as if he's just out for a Sunday stroll instead of having just crossed some dessert after fighting off who knows how many bad guys.

To get the full context of how this picture fits in with Bond's continuing mission to uncover the terrorist organization hinted at in 2006's Casino Royale, we will have to wait until November 7.

First Look: Brolin As Oliver Stone's G. W. Bush

Entertainment Weekly has scored the first pictures of Josh Brolin in full makeup as President George W. Bush for director Oliver Stone's upcoming Bush bio-pic W and man, is it an eerie resemblance. Elizabeth Banks as First Lady Laura Bush looks pretty close to the real deal, too. They both have that smug, condescension-barely-held-in-check, not-quite-a-smile thing down pat.

Beyond the cover photo, next week's issue of the magazine will feature a six page spread on the film, which begins filming in two weeks in Louisiana.

While some are expecting (or hoping) that the famously liberal Stone is setting about to do the first cinematic hatchet job on a seated president, he tells EW that is intrigued by Bush's life story, drawing rather interesting cinematic and literary parrallels.
''Bush may turn out to be the worst president in history,'' he declares as he peeks into room after room. ''I think history is going to be very tough on him. But that doesn't mean he isn't a great story. It's almost Capra-esque, the story of a guy who had very limited talents in life, except for the ability to sell himself. The fact that he had to overcome the shadow of his father and the weight of his family name — you have to admire his tenacity. There's almost an Andy Griffith quality to him, from A Face In The Crowd. If Fitzgerald were alive today, he might be writing about him. He's sort of a reverse Gatsby.''

GI JOE: Eight New (Official This Time) Cast Photos

(Updated: Three more photos added below!)

A quintet of pictures from Stephen Sommer's upcoming G I Joe have hit the web, with the studio dishing them out to various sites. But there's no need to go clicking all over as we have them all collected in one place for you.

I'm not that impressed with them, though. When some cast photos leaked a few weeks back*, I noted that the Joe team uniforms all looked the same, a vast departure from the look of the action figures/comic/cartoon characters. The newly released photos feature Breaker, played by Saïd Taghmaoui, and Heavy Duty, played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, weren't in the batch of leaked photos, the armor the two are sporting is similar to what was seen in the other photos.

Moving on to the bad guys, we see Christopher Eccelson as Destro, the arms merchant who is the main villain of the film. If fans are waiting to see what he looks like in his famous metal mask, they'll have to wait as Destro only gets it in the final scenes of the film and its probably a reveal they're going to hold to their chest as long as possible.

Those who caught those earlier leaked photos will recognize the costumes on Sienna Miller as the Baroness and Byung-hun Lee as the ninja Storm Shadow. Nothing new to see here and that includes nothing new that instills any confidence in the production.

* Which I'm sure that no one right-clicked and saved on their hard drive, because that would be wrong...

Update: Three more pictures of Joe Team members have shown up. The first two of Duke (Channing Tatum) and Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) showcase some more shiny black armor. What a surprise. In the last picture General Hawk (Dennis Quaid) is grumpy because Ferris Bueller looks better in a beret than he does.

First Look: LAND OF THE LOST's Sleestaks!

I was never a big fan of the Sid and Marty Kroft-produced TV series Land Of The Lost as a kid. I thought that Marshall, Will and Holly - the three whitewater rafters stranded in a strange world full of dinosaurs – were boring and more than a bit stupid at times. And don’t even start me on the Neanderthal boy Chaka.

However, I would still tune in every Saturday morning, just to see if that week’s episode would have an appearance by the evil and creepy Sleestaks.

Of course, looking back now, its easy to see that they were just some guys in rather tatty costumes, but as a kid, the way they awkwardly shuffled along with their hissing breath made them the coolest villains on TV.

Fortunately, for his big screen adaptation of the 1970s series, director Brad Silberling has kept the Sleestaks’ iconic look, while updating the costuming to add a bit more realism. Don’t believe me? Check out this photo, which appeared in today’s USA Today.

The sleestaks will menace Will Farrell, Danny McBride and Anna Friel next summer.

New Animated STAR WARS:CLONE WARS Pics

This past weekend at New York Comic Con, Lucasfilm rep Steve Stansweet presided over a presentation promoting several things coming soon for fans of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. In addition to trailers for upcoming video games and a brief live interview with Seth Green and Matthew Senreich about the Star Wars edition of their Cartoon Netowrk show Robot Chicken, Stansweet screened a trailer for the upcoming animated theatrical film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which will kickoff the television series of the same name.

I have to say that I wasn't really that impressed with the footage shown. I think it stems from the odd and uneasy juxtapositioning of the some elements that are far more photorealistic than others which are more stylized. It makes for an ugly and jarring combination. Of course, the writing might elevate the material, so there’s hope there.

In the meantime, Empire has scored a pair of new pictures from Star Wars: The Clone Wars' upcoming theatrical release in August. Click over to their site to check them out.

UPDATED: New GI JOE Cast Photos: Storm Shadow, Baroness, Duke And More!

UPDATE: Well, it seems as if WWTDD might have jumped the gun in releasing those photos, as Paramount's hired guns have sent out requests to take them down. The commentary on the photos remains though, as I am reasonably sure that Paramount Pictures does not own the copyright on my opinion.

Earlier this week, when the first picture of Scarlett from the upcoming adaptation of comic book/cartoon/toyline GI Joe showed up, I speculated that the production looks like it may be using generic black body armor for all the Joe Team members instead of their more distinctive, individual dress. It looks as if I'm right, if these new cast photos are any indication.

Below we see Channing Tatum as Duke and Marlon Wayans as Ripcord, the Joe Team's two newest members in the film, and they're sporting the same armor we've already seen on Scarlett and Snake Eyes. Randy Quaid as General Hawk and Karolina Korkova sport a slightly more comfortable look in standard issue fatigues. Rounding out the pictures is one of Byung-hun Lee as the ninja Storm Shadow and Sienna Miller as the villainous The Baroness.

My first impression is that this movie will make leather fetishists their happiest since the Matrix trilogy. My second impression is that these costumes are going to tick off loads of old school GI Joe fans.

The pictures turned up over at WWTDD, and if you head over there, you'll find a lot more where these came from.

New X-FILES 2 Photo: A Good Place TO BELIEVE

Later on this evening, I'll be joining a roundtable of reporters to talk with The X-Files creator Chris Carter and his co-writer on the upcoming X-Files feature film Frank Spotnitz. The pair will be appearing at the New York Comic Con this year to promote the upcoming big screen spin-off of the classic 90s television series.

In the meantime, Twentieth Century Fox has released a new photo of the film's stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Not very spoilerific in terms of the story, but its church setting suggests that its a scene that ties into the film's I Want To Believe subtitle. (Click on the picture to enlarge.)

And don't forget to check back here as the weekend progresses for movie news from the floor of the third annual New York Comic Con!

Yo Joe! First Look At GI JOE's Scarlett

One expects body armor to be form-fitting, but some how I doubt that this is really what the armed forces had in mind when developing such protection for the troops. Not that it matters though, as this is the world of GI Joe, the toy line-turned-cartoon and comic book franchise that is now getting the live action movie treatment.

Below is the first picture of Rachel Nichols as the Joe Team member Scarlett, courtesy of the folks at JoBlo. (Click for ubersize.)

The outfit recalls the black body armor we saw in the Snake Eyes photos that were released last month. Is this a trend for all of the G I Joe team members? If so, there may be some mighty unhappy fans.

THE SPIRIT Pics: Jackson and Johansson

As we countdown to next weekend's release of the teaser trailer for Frank Miller's upcoming adaptation of the comic hero The Spirit, Lionsgate has released two cast photos from the film. They feature Samuel L. Jackson as The Spirit's nemesis, the criminal mastermind known only as The Octopus and the jewel thief and femme fatale Silken Floss, as embodied by Scarlett Johansson.

Johansson is a great bit of casting because Miller is definitely going for a retro aesthetic with the film and Johansson's features recall the look of the glamour queens of Hollywood's Golden Age.

While Jackson has yet to turn in a disappointing performance, I have to admit that I'm a bit perplexed by the picture. In the classic Spirit strip, The Octopus was never shown, except for his distinctively gloved hands. Thinking Miller would preserve this, I was impressed with Jackson's casting and looking forward to him carrying the role through primarily a vocal performance. However, it looks as if Miller has something different, and dare I say it, a bit more conventional, in mind.

Superhero Picture-palooza: HELLBOY 2 and THE DARK KNIGHT But No IRON MAN

Loads of new photos have popped up for three of the summer's most anticipated comic book adaptations.

Yahoo has premiered a host of new Hellboy 2 pictures. Some may look familiar as they are lifted from scenes in the film’s trailer, like the one on the left (click to enlarge), but there are still a few new shots in the bunch, including one or two that make me wonder if director Guillermo del Toro read a lot of H. P. Lovecraft in his youth. A new trailer for the film should debut on Yahoo tomorrow.

Some Iron Man photos also surfaced briefly yesterday, but Paramount’s legal squad clamped down pretty quickly on them. If you missed them, they consisted of a few action shots of the slugfest between Iron Man and Iron Monger and what looks like Iron Man rescuing a jet fighter pilot in midair. As is usually the case, you can probably find these out there somewhere if you look hard enough.

Meanwhile, four new photos from Warner Brothers' Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight, have started making the rounds. As they all contain looks at Heath Ledger’s Joker and may a bit spoilerish, I advised that you scroll further down the page only at your own risk. If you do scroll down, click to enlarge.

You Know Those STAR TREK Pictures From Last Week?

You know those pictures that fell off of the set of J. J. Abrams's Star Trek we told you about last week? Well, we've been asked to take them down by an outside firm representing Trek-studio Paramount.

Here's the meat of the email I received-

The company hired by Paramount, BayTSP, Inc., claims to be acting as a representative for Paramount and claims that they feel photos included in the article were in violation of Paramount’s copyright. They asked that I remove the pictures and that I "refrain from using or sharing with others unauthorized Paramount Pictures Corporation’s materials in the future." Since one of the questions raised in the original post was the question of the provenance of the photos and how exactly Paramount was claiming copyright on the material, it seems that without an answer to those questions, I am severely hindered from determining what Paramount may later claim to fall within their copyright.

Well, since they asked nicely, I did pull the pictures. However, I feel that the questions asked in the post are still valid, and here it looks as if there is someone who may be in a position to answer them. So I’ve sent them following email-

Dear [Sir],

I am in receipt of your email from earlier today and have, in as much as in my power to do so, have removed the seven photos your client, Paramount Pictures, feels is in somehow violation of their copyright. I have also removed an eighth photograph not stipulated in your letter. Please note that I can not be held responsible for any search engine caching or other internet archiving of those images that may have been done to my site beyond my control.

I do have a few questions about Paramount's actions in this matter that I hope you can answer.

The pictures that I posted were part of an article, which I have retained on the site, where I questioned the reach of copyright claims in the digital age. As such, I felt the inclusion of the photos was necessary as part of that discussion and fell under the aegis of "Fair Use," using the definition that Fair use "of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting... is not an infringement of copyright." (17 U.S.C. section 107). Has any consideration been given towards any posting of these pictures under this provision?

Also, in the post, I questioned the provenance of the pictures as pursuant to Paramount's claims of copyright infringement. Was the photographer working as an employee of Paramount Pictures as an official photographer on the film's production? If not, when does this subject of an image override the copyright interest of the generator of the image?

I would appreciate any help you could provide in clarifying issues for myself and my site’s readers in order to prevent any similar misunderstandings in the future.

Thank you for your time,
Rich Drees

If I receive any response, I'll pass it along.

You Know Those Leaked STAR TREK Pictures From Earlier This Week?

Updated to remove links to photos. Read more about it here.

Earlier this week, several photos leaked off of a location shoot for J J Abrahms upcoming Star Trek franchise relaunch/reboot/remake/whatever. The photos detailed some scene being shot which included a Starfleet shuttle in the background, the interior of said shuttle, a closeup of a costume, a detail of a control panel and a sign.

As expected, Paramount legal flacks quickly sprung into action, requesting the big name websites that published them take them down, presumably under some murkily worded threat over copyright infringement. This, of course, raises a few questions. Were the pictures taken by a Paramount employee as part of their duties at the studio and on the production? If not, wouldn't copyright of the pictures belong to the photographer, as he or she is the one who created the image itself?

Also, I think that in some ways, this displays an incredible lack of understanding how the internet works, if these lawyers think believe that the pictures will just magically disappear once they ask them to. People are going to click and save the photos, pass them along to friends and repost them. They'll be cached by various search engines. This isn't about trying to get a cat back in the bag, it is about trying to herd a large pack of catnip crazed kitties into a sandwich baggie. It just isn't going to happen.

But then again, as the recent Writers Guild strike showed us in so many ways, the business side of Hollywood has absolutely no idea of how the internet works and how to use the new media in a way to really service their customers, we the movie-going public.

Star Trek hits theaters in May 2009.

More Eyeball Blistering SPEED RACER Pics!

The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly has gifted us with six new pictures from the Wachowski Brothers' upcoming adaptation of Speed Racer.

Some folks on the web have complained that the film looks too much like a video game or that the computer effects don't look realistic. It makes me wonder if those people have ever seen the original Japanese cartoon, because to me, what we've seen in two trailers and the previously released photos, indicate that the movie is definitely aping the cartoon's hyper-realistic look.

Until May 9, when Speed Racer hits theaters, enjoy the following pictures of Emile Hirsch as Speed, Christina Ricci as his girlfriend Trixie and Matthew Fox as Racer X.

Three New IRON MAN Pics

This summer blockbuster movie season is looking to be one of the strongest in recent memory. Titles like the new Indiana Jones film, Shyamalan's The Happening, Pixar's Wall-E, Get Smart, Hancock, The Dark Knight and X-Files 2 all have the potential to be really good summer crowd-pleasers. Even August, which is the traditional dumping ground of films the studios know are duds, has comedies like Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder and the animated Star Wars: The Clone Saga premiering.

Things get kicked off on May 2, with the release of the superhero adaptation Iron Man. Three new photos from the film have popped up today, all featuring the Iron Monger armor worn by the film's villain. (Click to enlarge.)

GI JOE: First Look At Snake Eyes

Sweeping around the internet this morning are the first two official pictures to come out of the in-production of the toy-turned-cartoon-turned-comic book adaptation G I Joe. Quite rightly, they are of Ray Park as fan favorite Snake Eyes, the mysterious gun-totting ninja on the Joe team.

While I can’t say anything about the script, though I hope to soon (hint, hint), I have to admit that these pictures are impressive. Enjoy!

STAR TREK Goes To Superhero High School

AintItCool has a set of spy photos taken yesterday of some location shooting for J J Abrams upcoming Star Trek franchise reboot. The production was filming in front of Cailfornia State University at Northridge’s Oviatt Library, trying to go incognito under the false title Corporate Headquarters. With the Starfleet logo on the lightpost banners, they clearly were not fooling anyone, hence the leaked pictures.

If you look at one of the pictures in the group, reproduced here at right (click to make bigger), you may notice that the Library looks familiar. That’s because it was also used as the location for the front of the superhero high school in Disney’s 2005 film Sky High! (You can also see a picture of the Library when it isn't moonlighting as a filmset at its Wikipedia entry.)

While it is true that some locations are used repeatedly, there’s often a disconnect for sharp eyed filmgoers when the same place is supposed to be in different locations in different films. It’s bound to happen occasionally, as not all films have the budget to film in the locations they are set in. Jack Nicholson’s Manhattan publishing office in Wolf can look suspiciously like the rundown Los Angeles apartment building in Bladerunner, because both films shot their scenes in LA’s famous Bradbury Building. More recently, viewers of the television series Heroes became familiar with an alleged Manhattan location called "Kirby Plaza," complete with a distinctive red sculpture, during the show’s first season finale. However, if they went to see Rush Hour 3 a few months later, they may have been surprised to see Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker race through the exact same plaza in an action sequence set in Los Angeles.

10 MONGOL Photos

It may not have won the Foreign Language Film Academy Award it was nominated for, but Russian director Sergei Bodrov's epic look at the early years of Genghis Khan, Mongul, will still be coming to theaters this June.

According to publicity materials- "Based on leading scholarly accounts and written by Bodrov and Arif Aliyev, Mongol delves into the dramatic and harrowing early years of the ruler who was born as Temudgin in 1162. As it follows Temudgin from his perilous childhood to the battle that sealed his destiny, the film paints a multidimensional portrait of the future conqueror, revealing him not as the evil brute of hoary stereotype, but as an inspiring, fearless and visionary leader. Mongol shows us the making of an extraordinary man, and the foundation on which so much of his greatness rested: his relationship with his wife, Borte, his lifelong love and most trusted advisor."

Here are a batch of recently released photos from the film that hint at the film's epic nature. Click to make bigger.

Another New INDIANA JONES Picture

You know, if you had told just over a year ago that there would be another Indiana Jones film, I wouldn't have believed you.

Despite the constant fan support the series had and the reoccurring stories stating that a script was being written, I tended to think that it would ultimately come down to whether the three main principles – George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford – wanted to take another go at the series. Lucas was just emerging from the decade long grind of the Star Wars prequels and I wouldn’t have been surprised if he would be reluctant to revisit another part of his past instead of looking towards the future and new projects. Spielberg had been vocal about moving from the "cartoon Nazis" of the Indiana Jones movies to examining the real horrors of the Third Reich in Schindler’s List and would not be able to go back and use them as the villains he had used them as in the past. Most importantly, Harrison Ford was getting older and would he want to put himself through the grueling shooting scheduled these films demand?

I guess it goes to show you what I know.

But I am glad to be wrong as Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is looking to be one of the highpoints in a summer blockbuster season that is already looking to have plenty of promising films.

Here’s the latest picture from the upcoming film, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, showing Indy and family racing through the jungle, fending off some Soviet carjackers. Is that really Ford readying to leap onto the other jeep? The fedora’s shadow across Indy’s face makes it hard to be sure, but I think it is.

WATCHMEN Costume Pics!

With the countdown until its premier at t-minus 365 days, director Zack Snyder has released the first official photos of the superheroes of Watchmen over at the film's production blog.

And man, for the most part, I am digging what I am seeing. (To see more of each photo, click on it to enlarge.)

The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) looks as if he's hopped right out of the pages of the classic graphic novel to shove that gun into your face. This cinematic version of Owl Man (Patrick Wilson) visually comments on the film version of Batman in a manner similar to the way that the comic’s version of Owl Man did on his four-color counterpart. Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley)definitely looks like someone you not only don’t want to meet in a dark alley, you probably don't want to meet him in a brightly lit one either. For that matter Silk Spectre (Malin Akerman) looks as if she’d hand you your head on a platter if you tried to make a rude comment on her outfit.

The only character I’m not really digging is the Ozymandus (Matthew Goode). Perhaps it is the muted look of the photo, but the costume just looks off to me. The blues and purples of the costume should pop more, similar to the ancient Egyptian art that inspired it.

A lot of fans of the graphic novel, myself included, have been casting a wary at the film, uncertain that it could be translated to the big screen in a way that remains faithful to the source material. Of course, that just makes it like every other film that adapts a story from another medium. But from what we have seen so far, I’m beginning to have my apprehension give away to anticipation.

First Look: ZACK & MIRI MAKE A PORNO

I have to admit that there's something about the title of Kevin Smith's currently in production comedy, Zack & Miri Make A Porno, that always makes me laugh. Perhaps it is the simple sentence structure recalling old children's book titles, a la Curious George Goes To The Zoo, juxtaposed against the decidedly adult task of producing pornography.

The adults in this case are Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks, seen her in the first still released from the film. They play the titular (no pun intended) life-long friends who decide to produce their own porn video as a way of paying off their mounting (another pun unintended) debts.

But will a comedy about amateur porn attract folks to the box office? Industry analyst Jeff Bock, quoted in the USA Today article that featured this picture, seems to think so, claiming "It's one of the best titles of the year."

Smith certainly doesn't have any qualms about using the word "porno" in the title. "We're just hoping that by the time the movie comes out, if the marketing people do their jobs right, it's a word that people will kind of get over."

We'll find out next fall when the film hits theaters.

First Look: Buffed Up Stiller In TROPIC THUNDER

In the upcoming action-comedy Tropic Thunder, Ben Stiller leads a group of actors (whose number include Jack Black and Robert Downey, Jr.) working on an epic Vietnam War film who so infuriate their director (Steve Coogan) that he drops the cast into a real jungle. The oblivious prima donnas think that this is some form revolutionary new Method filmmaking and don't realize that they may be in actual danger.

In this picture (Click to make bigger), which appeared on Entertainment Weekly's site earlier today, Stiller appears to have bulked up a bit for the role, while Black has obviously bleached his hair.

But perhaps the most interesting change a cast member has gone through for a role is Robert Downey, Jr.'s. Take a look at the picture again. Yup, that's him under that makeup in the middle. It turns out his character is such an intense actor that when he learns that the part he has in the film was originally written as an African-American character, he dyes his skin.

This is a project that Stiller has been developing for almost as long as he has been an actor, so I'd imagine that there are more than a few jokes and incidences that are drawn from real life. This is also the first time Stiller has directed a film since 2001's highly underrated Zoolander. Expect to see a trailer on March 17.

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE Set Pics!

We've been holding off on posting some of the new pictures to have recently come out of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine production for one simple reason. They've all be Hugh Jackman in the familiar Wolverine leather jacket. Nothing really new or exciting there.

Now we have something new and potentially exciting- A whole slew of spy photos showing both Jackman and co-star Liev Schrieber behind the scenes at the film's Australian location shoot. The pictures come courtesy of Just Jared.

Take a look at a number of the pictures of Schrieber. (Or just click on the picture at the left.) Check out his fingernails.

Here's hoping that the production releases some official photos soon.

(Click picture to Make bigger.) Although Snyder has previously shown us shots of the film's New York Street sets, this is the first action shot from the movie.

The scene shows Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) setting fire to an attacking riot-gear suited police officer. The shot is from the same sequence that Snyder posted storyboards from a month ago today.

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE- First Look!
