Although this first surfaced about a month ago, with director Jennifer Lynch’s second film Surveillance going into limited release next week, let’s take a look at the trailer for her third film, Hisss.
Although Lynch made the film in India with Indian backers, I don’t think that this horror fantasy tale will be much like the standard Bollywood films with which most people are familiar. Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat stars as a snake-woman who terrorizes the countryside. From the trailer below, I think it’s safe to bet that there probably won’t be any spontaneous musical numbers. Even more interesting is that the level of gore (from makeup effects master Robert Kurtzman) and unclothed flesh hinted at in the trailer looks to be at a level usually not seen in Bollywood films.
