One of the flood of potential films based on L Frank Baum’s classic Oz fantasy series is the animated Dorothy Of Oz. Based on the book written by Baum’s great grandson Roger Stanton Baum, the film will feature Glee star Lea Michele as Dorothy, Dan Aykroyd as the Scarecrow and Kelsey Grammer as the Tin Woodsman. The Hollywood Reporter has a look at some of the film’s concept art, so take a pop over and take a look at what Avatar visual designer Seth Engstrom and director Dan St. Pierre have in store.
Admittedly, the look of the city of Oz is strongly drawn from the classic 1939 MGM film The Wizard Of Oz, the other designs are pretty interesting. We’ll get a chance to see them in motion when the film is released next summer.
