Famke Janssen has signed on to Paramount’s action comedy Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters. Janssen will play the leader of a group of witches who become the target of the titular siblings, all grown up and more than a little affected by their childhood encounter with a ravenous old woman with peculiar culinary tastes.
Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola is helming the film from a script by Wirkola and D.W. Harper.
Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton are set to star as Hansel and Gretel. The film is set to begin production in Berlin next month. No release date has been scheduled.
