First Trailer For Jackie Chan’s Final Action Film CHINESE ZODIAC

We ended last week with the rather sad news that Jackie Chan has decided that his upcoming film Chinese Zodiac will be his last action film. It was an announcement that we knew would be coming sooner or later, but was still disappointing to have finally arrive nonetheless.

But what was missing from the announcement was that Chinese Zodiac will feature the return of Chan’s adventurer character Asian Hawk who he played in1986’s Armor Of God and it’s 1991 sequel Operation: Condor. Here’s the trailer for the upcoming film, which is set to open in Hong Kong at the end of the year.

Now, as I mentioned last week, the very first Jackie Chan movie I ever saw was Armor Of God, so that fact that he is closing out the action phase of his career with a return to his character from that movie is a very nice symmetry for me at least.

I would imagine that there will be a bit of a wait before Chinese Zodiac is available here in the States, so while we’re all waiting, may I suggest revisiting all of Chan’s great action work in his Police Story films, Crime Story, the Project A films, The Accidental Spy, Rumble In The Bronx, the Drunken Master films and the like. (Basically, anything except his Hollywood films.)
