SKYFALL Writers Hired To Pen KOJAK Adaptation For Vin Diesel

vindieselWith Skyfall earning money hand over fist and breaking all sorts of records in the process, it would only be a matter of time before studios tried to capture some of that lightning in a bottle by pinching some of the creative minds behind that film.

Enter Universal Studios, who have hired the British writing team of Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, who co-wrote the latest Bond flick with John Logan, to pen the screenplay for their planned film adaptation of the 1970s TV show, Kojak. Vin Diesel is a producer on the project and is expected to play the title role.

Kojak was a police procedural that ran on CBS from 1973 to 1978. It rose above the typical cop shows of the time due to the charm and charisma of Telly Salvalas in the lead role. It will be interesting to see how Vin Diesel tries to fill those shoes.
