We’ve heard a bit about casting for Marvel Studios’ Guardians Of The Galaxy, specifically, the hunt to find an actor to play the group’s leader Star Lord and the possibility that the studio is considering Jim Carey and Adam Sandler for either one or two roles.
But there has to be work being done on filling the group’s other roles, right?
The Facebook page Marvel Cinematic Universe thinks they have the shortlist of actresses in the running for the role of alien warrior Gamora. They are Adrianne Palicki (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines), Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), Rachel Nichols (G.I Joe: The Rise Of Cobra), and Rosario Dawson (Sin City). The page also states that all five actresses are set to audition for the part. While I admit that I am not a fan of some of these ladies’ past work, its fairly easy to see with their similar resumes the direction Marvel must be thinking in.
It should be pointed out that Marvel Cinematic Universe is an untested source, so I would take this one with a grain or two of salt for the time being.
Yeah, this seems like a guy who listed all the women who had roles in genre film or TV projects and listed them a potential candidates. Doesn’t seem like a list Marvel would approve of, outside of Dawson. Dubious.
