Doug Ellin, creator of the HBO series Entourage, has signed to give a rewrite to the screenplay for Bad Santa 2 with a possible eye towards directing the Billy Bob Thornton-starring sequel. Ellin will be revising a draft already turned in by Johnny Rosenthal.
Thornton is reportedly anxious to get the project ready to shoot by the late fall, after he wraps production on the Mathew Cullen-directed London Fields which goes before cameras on September 9.
Meanwhile, Ellin has turned in his screenplay for an Entourage movie to HBO but has not received a go-ahead from the studio on the project.
