Saturday Night Live has been poking fun at the movies since practically its first episode. This past weekend, the show exceeded itself with a parody trailer for The Midnight Coterie Of Sinister Intruders, a horror film “directed” by Wes Anderson. Imagine The Royal Tennenbaums by way of the recent You’re Next all delightfully scored to Paul Simon’s “Me And Julio Down By The School Yard.” It features many of the new cast, as well as guest host Edward Norton doing a surprisingly on-point and hysterical Owen Wilson impersonation, and it left me not only gasping for breath from laughing so hard, but hoping that Anderson does turn his quirky storytelling sensibilities towards the horror genre and the result be something as amazingly crazy as this.
