JJ Abrams may have his principal actors cast for Star Wars: Episode VII, but he is still looking for the most important onscreen talent there is – the extras. Hey, without extras, that galaxy far, far away would look severely underpopulated.

An extras casting breakdown has begun circulating (via Movie Casting Call) and it looks as if they are casting a wide net for background performers, from “Males and Females, 16 years of age and older. Any ethnicity. All types, sizes and shapes” to “Characterful, memorable, eye catching & unusual looking men & women.” The most interesting thing that stands out to me is the line looking for “Sailors/navy/fisherman types.” That’s definitely a clue as to a possible location, and I’m thinking that it might be a seedy space port setting. It has been rumored that the story will be taking audiences back to Luke Skywalker’s homeplanet of Tattoine. Might Abrams be looking to populate a cantina with some rather scruffy looking types?

So if you happen to believing in the London, Hertforshire or Bedfordshire areas of the United Kingdom, you might want to click through to see how to throw your headshot into consideration.

The Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm, in association with Kasdan Pictures and Bad Robot Productions will begin principal photography on the first in a new stand-alone Star Wars trilogy in London on May 14, 2014.
