All FORCE AWAKENS Footage Edited Together, Possibly In Order

JJ Abrams is well known for wanting to preserve as many secrets about his films before release as possible. So even with a handful of trailers and a TV commercial having been released for next month’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we still have a lot of questions about who some of the characters who are new to the Star Wars saga and what their relationships are to each other and the returning characters such as Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker.

Enterprising Star Wars fan and YouTube user Mike V. has tried to solve that mystery by taking all of the footage that has been released so far and editing it into one possible order of how it might appear in the final film.

Does he get it right? Who’s to say? But I do like the logic that seems to be at play that states since we haven’t seen much of Luke Skywalker in the promotional material so far is down to it being that he only appears in the final part of the film. There are a few things I would change, though. I wouldn’t place Rey hopping on her blocky speederbike until after her exploration of the crashed star destroyer. That shot gives the impression that she is being chase or fleeing somewhere, and I would suspect that it could be something encountered while in the downed battleship. Plus the wide shot of the speeder moving along in the distance, the long shot of Rey at the wreckage and then closeup of a masked Rey all suggest that they are setups leading to the first reveal of her face.

What do you think?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18.
