While this is probably the greatest thing ever when you&#8217;re a kid, the movie goes to show that it could put a severe cramp in your lifestyle if you&#8217;re an adult.<\/p>\n<p>MacFarlane co-wrote the script with <em>Family Guy<\/em> staff writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. The film is budgeted at $65 million and not surprisingly is expected to land a hard R rating.<\/p>\n<p>Back when the project was first announced <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2010\/04\/12\/universal-buys-a-teddy-bear-from-seth-macfarlane\/\" target=\"_blank\">last spring<\/a>, I thought that the plot had some semblance to <strong>The Beaver<\/strong>, a script about a man with a beaver hand puppet that seems to have a life and voice of its own. At the time, The Beaver was in production with Jody Foster directing.
