\ufeffIs Ghostbusters 3<\/strong> going to finally go in front of the cameras next spring? Production Weekly seems to think so yesterday when they tweeted \u2013<\/p>\n

Concrete news about the anticipated sequel has been hard to pin down, though whether it is due to changing circumstances or some of those involved speaking a bit more hopefully than factually is hard to say. We do know that there is a script by The Office<\/em> scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky and that star Dan Akyroyd has recently or is currently taking a pass through it. Supposedly all the original cast \u2013 Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and Rick Moranis \u2013 are all anxious to join in on the project, though at times Murray\u2019s stance on participating seems to shift in the wind.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll admit it, I would love to see a new Ghostbusters<\/strong> film and think that director Ivan Reitman, Murray, Aykrod, Ramis and the rest could easily recapture a lot of what made the original film so much fun. But I am finding it hard to work myself up too much over this particular report. For one thing, Production Weekly has it couched with the weasel word \u201cHearing.\u201d They may be hedging their own bet here or maybe it is their source who is tentative on this coming to pass. For another, we\u2019ve been down this road before without getting to our destination.<\/p>\n

The Ghostbusters may be ready to believe us when it comes to the supernatural, but I reserve the right to be a bit skeptical about them and a third film until I am actually at the box office buying my ticket.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
