{"id":10783,"date":"2010-11-18T19:17:20","date_gmt":"2010-11-19T00:17:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/?p=10783"},"modified":"2024-12-07T20:06:39","modified_gmt":"2024-12-08T01:06:39","slug":"zemeckis-not-in-talks-for-wizard-of-oz-remake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2010\/11\/18\/zemeckis-not-in-talks-for-wizard-of-oz-remake\/","title":{"rendered":"Zemeckis Not In Talks For WIZARD OF OZ Remake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Looks like we all jumped the gun <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2010\/11\/16\/warners-wants-zemeckis-to-remake-wizard-of-oz-with-original-script\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tuesday<\/a> when Deadline reported that director Robert Zemeckis was in talks to direct a remake of <strong>The Wizard Of Oz<\/strong> for Warner Brothers using the original script from classic 1939 version.<\/p>\n<p>Turns out that Deadline, where the report originated, had it a bit wrong.<\/p>\n<p>It is true that Zemeckis had met with Warners brass and they did discuss how a possible remake of <strong>Wizard Of Oz <\/strong>could be approached, he is not going to be directing the film.
