The Warrior\u2019s Way (Relativity, 1,622 Theaters, 100 Minutes, Rated R):<\/strong> I live outside of New York City, and I have heard nothing of this film. No print ads, no TV commercials, nothing. And if there was ever a market that should see some advertising, it\u2019s mine. So, you probably wouldn\u2019t be in the wrong if you thought that there wasn\u2019t going to be any film released this week.<\/p>\n<p>The film details an Asian assassin, who goes on the run after failing to complete an assignment (to be fair, the assignment was killing a baby). He hides out in a town in the American west populated by circus folk. But this only provides a temporary haven as his clan catches up with him to mete out punishment.<\/p>\n<p>This \u201cEast-meets-Old-West\u201d story has been done before , from 1971\u2019s <strong>Red Sun<\/strong> to the more recent <strong>Shanghai Noon<\/strong> and <strong>Shanghai Knights<\/strong>. But if you are fans of these kinds of films, well, here you go.<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"450\" height=\"249\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.traileraddict.com\/emd\/28077\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"450\" height=\"249\" src=\"http:\/\/www.traileraddict.com\/emd\/28077\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" wmode=\"transparent\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\"\/><\/object><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/oscars-copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-10301\" title=\"oscars copy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/oscars-copy-300x89.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"89\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/oscars-copy-300x89.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/oscars-copy.jpg 410w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Even though it features Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush in its cast, I\u2019d be very surprised if The Warrior\u2019s Way gets any Oscar nomination. However there are several films in limited release that might have a shot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All Good Things (Magnolia, 2 Theaters, 101 Minutes, Rated R)<\/strong> seems to be a conventional pot-boiler of a thriller, and it has been on the shelf for over a year, but it does star recent Oscar nominees Ryan Gosling and Frank Langella. If the material rises above expectations, they might get a nod.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Black Swan (Fox Searchlight, 18 Theaters, 107 Minutes, Rated R)<\/strong> has been getting a lot of buzz, mostly for the kiss between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. But it also has been getting some great reviews and Portman has gotten strong notices. If everything they say about this film is true, then I can\u2019t see it being ignored come Oscar time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I Love You Phillip Morris (Roadside Attractions, 6 Theaters, 100 Minutes, Rated R): <\/strong>Is controversial. But it\u2019s gay love story meets crime caper has about an equal chance of alienating the Academy and, if done right, getting some Oscar attention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">1.
