\"\"<\/a>The wait is over for those of you wondering when George Lucas will be getting around to releasing the Star Wars<\/strong> films onto blu-ray. The director\/producer announced today that all six films will heading to the high-def home video format in September in three different box sets – one for the original trilogy, one for the prequel trilogy and one for all six films.<\/p>\n

But if you’re wondering if Lucas would be releasing the original theatrical version of the Original Trilogy instead of the re-edited Special Editions, you are in for a disappointment. Judging by the last shot of promotional trailer released today, it’s going to be the Special Editions.<\/p>\n

Details of what the individual trilogy box sets will include have yet to be announced, though it was stated the six film set would contain “three additional discs and more than 30 hours of extensive special features including never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes, an exploration of the exclusive Star Wars archives, and much more.”<\/p>\n

Flanked by a\u00a0 legion of his finest\u00a0 Imperial Stormtroopers, Darth Vader himself joined Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment President Mike Dunn at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to announce the release, vowing\u00a0 \u201cThe forces of the Empire will be at your disposal to assure the success of this endeavor.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
