Actors Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld also received nods for their work in the film.<\/p>\n<p>Other films sweeping the nominations include<strong> Inception<\/strong> and <strong>The Social Network<\/strong> with eight and <strong>The Fighter<\/strong> with seven nods.<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, <strong>Toy Story 3<\/strong> was nominated in both the Best Picture and Best Animated feature categories, which begs the question will beingin both categories split its potential votes? The inclusion of <strong>Toy Story 3<\/strong> on the Best Adapted Screenplay list also begs the questions, &#8220;Adapted from what?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there were the usual negative surprises as well. Many people, myself including, expected <strong>The Town<\/strong> to earn more than the one nomination it did get. The Academy surprisingly passed over Christopher Nolan for his work in directing Inception as was Ryan Gosling for his performance in <strong>Blue Valentine <\/strong>opposite the nominated Michelle Williams.
