Quiet Earth<\/a> is reporting that they’ve heard from a source “inside Lionsgate” that the studio is interested in the British director taking the reins on the project.<\/p>\n

Not too well known by American audiences, Smith has directed a handful of smaller budgeted films in England. His 2006 film Severance<\/strong> is an hysterical comedic take on slasher films while 2009’s Triangle<\/strong> is an effective thriller. I can see how Lionsgate would be interested in him directing the project based on this previous work and how he did it on a low budget.
