And ever since the commercial for Independence Day became the topic of talk around the water cooler at work the following day in 1996, studios have known that a 30 or 60 second spot airing during the game is a good way to get people excited about their upcoming films.

Looking at the calendar of this year’s upcoming film releases, there’s a lot to look forward to and many of the studios will be spending $3 million per 30 seconds of advertising time to give an estimated 100 million viewers a glimpse. Below is the list of what films will be advertising during Fox’s coverage with their release dates. The pre-game starts at 2 pm while the game coverage begins at 6 pm. The post-game commercials are scheduled to air during Fox’s special episode of Glee which runs after the game ends.

Pre-game

Battle: Los Angeles (March 13th)

The Eagle (February 11th)

Just Go With It (February 11th)

Kung Fu Panda: Kaboom of Doom (May 27th)

Priest (May 13th)

During Game

Captain America: The First Avenger (July 22nd)

Cowboys & Aliens (July 29th)

Limitless (March 18th)

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (May 20th)

Rango (March 4th)

Super 8 (June 10th)

Thor (May 6th)

Transformers: Dark of the Moon (July 1st)

Post Game

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D (February 14th)

Take Me Home Tonight (March 4th)

Interestingly, there a number of omissions that I had expected to be buying time during Sunday’s game.
