To herald its big feature on J J Abrams upcoming reboot of the Star Trek<\/strong> franchise, Entertainment Weekly<\/em>will feature Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto as Kirk and Spock on its cover next week. This is the first official look we are getting of the two in costume. (Click to enlarge.)<\/p>\n

While this is yet another in a long line of stunningly average cover photos that EW<\/em> has sported over the years, Trek<\/strong>fans can glean a few things. While it appears that Abrams has kept the original television series’s uniform’s classic look, with only a tweak or two. He has also kept the “futuristic” pointed sideburns look that William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and the rest of the cast of the original series sported.<\/p>\n

I expect photos from the issue’s feature story\u00a0to show up online in the coming days as the magazine begins to get into distribution.<\/p>\n
