\"\"<\/a>After years of promises and films setting up its individual characters, Marvel Studio’s The Avengers<\/strong> will commence principal photography tomorrow, Monday April 25.<\/p>\n

The film’s director, Joss Whedon, made the announcement, in his typical tongue-in-cheek manner, in an email to Whedonesque<\/a> –<\/p>\n

Hi Pumpkins, joss here.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow we start shooting (I THINK I’m legally permitted to say that). Day one. That’s right. We’ll be shooting the pivotal death\/betrayal\/product placement\/setting up the sequel\/coming out scene, at the following address:<\/p>\n

As you can see from Whedon’s email, it is a bit unclear as to where the cameras will be when they start rolling. The production is set to do a major portion of filming at Albuquerque Studios in New Mexico and Universal Studios in LA. There is also some location work scheduled for New York City and Cleveland, Ohio<\/a>. Granted, Samuel L Jackson, Chris Evans and Clark Gregg were all in Manhattan yesterday<\/a> shooting some pick up shots for Captain America<\/strong>, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that The Avengers<\/strong> will begin production there tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The Avengers<\/strong> will feature Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark\/Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner\/The Hulk, Evans as Steve Rogers\/Captain America, Jackson as Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton\/Hawkeye, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Gregg as SHIELD Agent Coulson, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd as Erik Selvig.<\/p>\n

The Avengers<\/strong> will be hitting theaters on May 4, 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
