\"\"<\/a>Johnny Depp is heading back to where it pretty much all began.<\/p>\n

Coming Soon<\/a> has confirmed that the actor will be making an appearance in the upcoming 21 Jump Street<\/strong> film, the big screen adaption of the 1980s television series that launched his career.<\/p>\n

The film version is being directed by Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs<\/strong> co-directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and is set to star Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Rob Riggle, DeRay Davis, Dave Franco and Jake Johnson. Hill has been vocal about how Michael Bacall’s screenplay included a spot for a cameo from Depp and that he hoped he would want to do it.<\/p>\n

Although he had appeared in a few films, most notably the first installment of the A Nightmare On Elm Street<\/strong> franchise, it was Depp’s four year run on the original 21 Jump Street<\/em> television series that catapulted his career into the stratosphere. Although much of the attention he received at the time was based more on his looks than anything else, it was his first post-Jump Street<\/em> project, Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands<\/strong>, which convinced everyone that he was more than just a pretty face.<\/p>\n
