It seems that Rob Zombie hasn’t shaken the need to remake 1980s horror films, as it looks as if the rocker-turned-writer\/director has his sights on a revamp of the cult classic C.H.U.D<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the original, Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers (hence the title) emerged from the sewers to feast on unwary residents of New York City. How Zombie attempts to reshape the material and for whom he will make the picture have not been announced.<\/p>\n

Zombie’s remake of John Carpenter’s 1978 classic slasher Halloween<\/strong> released earlier this year was admirable for its attempt to provide a more realistic and psychologically deeper motive for killer Michael Myers’s rampage. Unfortunately, Zombie seeming desire to recreate many of the original\u2019s scares in the second of the film didn\u2019t mesh well with what he established in the first half, leaving the film feeling somewhat schizophrenic. Although almost universally panned by critics, Zombie\u2019s Halloween<\/strong> remake still managed to pull a bit over $58 million at the box office.<\/p>\n
