\"\"<\/a>Next summer will see the return of the American Pie<\/strong> franchise to theaters after having devolved down to a series of quick and cheap made for home video projects (American Pie Presents Beta House<\/strong>, anyone?). With the original cast returning, the movie will have a lot of sins to atone for and with the creators of the Harold And Kumar<\/strong> films Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg on writing and directing duty, it has a good chance of doing just that.<\/p>\n

We know from reports, and the title, that American Reunion<\/strong> will center on a 10 year high school class reunion that brings Jim, Michelle, Stiffler, Finch and the rest back to East Great Falls. The newly released story synopsis from the studio gives us a little more information, some of which you may consider to be mildly spoilery.<\/p>\n

In the comedy American Reunion<\/strong>, all the American Pie<\/strong> characters we met a little more than a decade ago are returning to East Great Falls for their high-school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn\u2019t and that time and distance can\u2019t break the bonds of friendship. It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye. Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stifler\u2019s mom. Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about\u2014and get inspired by\u2014the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The entire original cast of Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Chris Klein, Eugene Levy, Tara Reid, Shannon Elizabeth, Mena Suvari, and Natasha Lyonne will be back for this with newcomers Chuck Hittinger, Jay Harrington, Ali Cobrin, Dania Ramirez, and Katrina Bowden being added to the mix.<\/p>\n

American Reunion<\/strong> hits theaters on April 6, 2012.<\/p>\n
