{"id":16122,"date":"2011-09-12T11:20:36","date_gmt":"2011-09-12T16:20:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/?p=16122"},"modified":"2011-09-12T11:20:36","modified_gmt":"2011-09-12T16:20:36","slug":"india-government-requests-changes-to-bond-23-train-action-scene","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2011\/09\/12\/india-government-requests-changes-to-bond-23-train-action-scene\/","title":{"rendered":"India Government Requests Changes To BOND 23 Train Action Scene"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/JamesBondBarrelLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-11382\" title=\"JamesBondBarrelLogo\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/JamesBondBarrelLogo-300x158.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" \/><\/a>As the next James Bond film gets ready to film <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2011\/08\/31\/bond-23-to-shoot-in-india\/\" target=\"_blank\">on location in India<\/a>, the government there has requested that producers change an action sequence that is scripted to take place on top of a moving train.<\/p>\n<p>Spoilers ahead.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/film\/2011\/sep\/07\/james-bond-23-india-train\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Guardian<\/em><\/a>, the Indian government requested the rewrite as the &#8220;planned action sequence showing people travelling on the roof of a state-run train service,&#8221; citing Indian Railways minister Dinesh Trivedi as saying &#8220;Rooftop travel is illegal in India and it cannot be encouraged&#8230; There are many trains in India and not all trains have people travelling on the rooftops.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As scripted, the scene would have involved British secret agent James Bond, being played by Daniel Craig, jumping from a motorcycle on to the top of a moving train in pursuit of a bad guy. The scene will remain basically the same, though without any travelers riding on top of the train to interfere with Bond&#8217;s progress.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the Bond franchise has only shot on location in India once before, for 1983&#8217;s <strong>Octopussy<\/strong>. That film also had an action sequence set on top of a train which was also curiously passenger-free.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, jumping a motorcycle onto a moving train is not a stunt that will be unique to <strong>Bond 23<\/strong>.
