One title mentioned was <strong>Micronauts<\/strong>, a line of futuristic action figures that were released back in the late 1970s and early 1980s being developed by producer JJ Abrams over at Paramount Pictures.<\/p>\n<p>Now we know who has the assignment to write that film &#8211; Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the writers of the hit comedy <strong>Zombieland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Although the toys came with no real story to drive play, a spinoff comic from Marvel Comics fleshed out the characters&#8217; backgrounds into a group of freedom fighters struggling to overthrow the evil ruler of the microverse, Baron Karza.<\/p>\n<p>Following the breakout success of <strong>Zombieland<\/strong>, Wernick and Reese have landed a couple of plum assignments in scripting <strong>GI Joe: Retaliation<\/strong> which is currently in production and <strong>Deadpool<\/strong>, which has Ryan Reynolds attached to reprise the character he played in <strong>X-Men Origins: Wolverine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>No director is attached yet to the project.<\/p>\n<p>Via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/2011\/10\/zombieland-scribe-team-tackles-hasbros-micronauts-for-jj-abrams-and-paramount\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">Yesterday during their quarterly earnings call Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner discussed the status of many of the films in development based on their various toy lines.
