\"\"<\/a>Writer Aaron Sorkin has already won an Academy Award for writing The Social Network<\/strong>, a film chronicling the creation of the social networking site Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg. Reportedly he is now considering tackling another genius maverick who built a tech empire \u2013 Steve Jobs.<\/p>\n

Sony Pictures is working on getting a bio-pic of the Apple Computers founder into production as quickly as possible. The project is using Walter Isaacson’s autobiography of Jobs<\/a>\"\"as its basis. The LA Times\u2019 24 Frames<\/em><\/a> blog reports that producer Mark Gordon has approached Sorkin to adapt the book for the big screen and the writer is currently thinking it over.<\/p>\n

This wouldn\u2019t be the first time that Sorkin would adapt a non-fiction book into a film. The Social Network<\/strong> was based on Ben Mezrich\u2019s The Accidental Billionaires<\/a>\"\"<\/em>while this fall\u2019s Moneyball<\/strong> was based on Michael Lewi’s book<\/a>\"\"of the same name. Sorkin obviously has a good track record here.<\/p>\n

But Sorkin may be hesitant to take on this new job for a couple of reasons.<\/p>\n

First is the fact that Sorkin might think that he has already told this type of story before in The Social Network<\/strong> and might not be looking to repeat himself so soon.<\/p>\n

Secondly, Sorkin might decline because he knew Jobs personally. While I don\u2019t pretend to know the depths of that relationship, it was at least casual enough for Jobs to call Sorkin up one time to ask him if he would be interested in writing a movie for Pixar. On the other hand, because the subject matter would be so personal, perhaps Sorkin wouldn\u2019t want anyone else to tackle the project so he would take it on himself as a form of tribute.<\/p>\n

I suspect that sooner rather than later in the weeks to come, we\u2019ll have some answers to these questions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
