Although marked at the time with poor sound, bad organization and the band\u2019s infamous press conference, the concert has since gained a mythic stature that has been compared to Woodstock.<\/p>\n<p>Directing<strong> Spike Island<\/strong> will be Mat Whitecross, no stranger to rock and roll stories thanks to his Ian Drury bio-pic <strong>Sex&amp;drugs&amp;rock&amp;roll<\/strong>. Elliott Tittensor and Matthew McNulty are signed on to star and the band has already given their permission for their music to be used in the film.<\/p>\n<p>Fans who weren\u2019t able to get tickets to the Stone Roses\u2019 announced reunion shows that sold out in 15 minutes can take heart in the fact that Shane Meadows is in negotiation with the band to film them next June. Meadows filmed the band\u2019s press conference last week announcing the reunion.
