\"\"<\/a>With the film\u2019s release still more than a year-and-a-half away, Warners is reportedly already starting the hunt for some writers to script a sequel to Zack Snyder\u2019s Superman film The Man Of Steel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Think McFly Think<\/a> is reporting that although the studio has not approached any talent yet, they have compiled a shortlist of possible candidates they would like to see take the job. Among the names purportedly on the list are Steve Kloves, Travis Beacham and Lawrence Kasdan.<\/p>\n

All are solid screenwriters. Kloves is rolling off of adapting seven of the eight Harry Potter<\/strong> films for the studio and I\u2019m sure that they are very happy with the way they turned out. Beacham has just turned in his latest draft on the monster film Pacific Rim<\/strong>, which the studio is co-producing with Legendary. Kasdan\u2019s credentials stretch all the way back to The Empire Strikes Back<\/strong> and Raiders Of The Lost Ark<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Even with the film\u2019s June 2013 release still more than 18 months away, I\u2019m not surprised that Warners is already beginning to think about a sequel. Such advanced planning is more and more becoming standard operating procedure. The cost for developing a sequel screenplay is relatively small and it gives the studio a head start if the first film is a hit. According to TMT\u2019s reporting the studio is very happy with the footage that they\u2019ve seen so far for Snyder\u2019s Man Of Steel<\/strong>, which is still in production through January. It makes sense that they\u2019re starting to think about a follow-up already.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
