In news that will make any genre film fan swoon, Christian Bale, arguably the best Batman<\/strong> to hit any screen, is in negotiations to take over the role of John Connor in the next Terminator<\/strong> movie, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For those of you unfamiliar with the franchise, John Connor is the leader of the human resistance in the machine controlled future of the series. The character serves as the basis for all the movies, as he is the one the Terminators are sent back to kill and\/or prevent from being born.<\/p>\n

It is not known if the Governator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger will return in the role of the T-101 robot, being that he is otherwise occupied with running the state of California.<\/p>\n

Bale will play a 30-ish John Connor in the film, which is set to be directed by McG and scheduled to start shooting in Budapest in April 2008.<\/p>\n

I was surprised that the Terminator<\/strong> franchise could be able to survive with out James Cameron at the helm. But here we are, with the second post-Cameron sequel in the works with an A-list actor in talks for a role and a TV series set to debut on FOX in January. It seems the series has legs.<\/p>\n
