{"id":18487,"date":"2012-01-31T20:51:08","date_gmt":"2012-02-01T01:51:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/?p=18487"},"modified":"2012-01-31T20:51:08","modified_gmt":"2012-02-01T01:51:08","slug":"christian-mungiu-prepares-follow-up-to-2007s-4-months-3-weeks-and-2-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2012\/01\/31\/christian-mungiu-prepares-follow-up-to-2007s-4-months-3-weeks-and-2-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Christian Mungiu Prepares Follow Up To 2007\u2019s 4 MONTHS, 3 WEEKS AND  2 DAYS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/ChristianMungiu.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-18488\" title=\"ChristianMungiu\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/ChristianMungiu-249x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"249\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Christian Mungiu, whose stunning <strong>4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days<\/strong> was heralded as one the key films in the New Romanian Cinema movement of the last decade, is prepping his first new feature project since that landmark picture.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/2012\/01\/wild-bunch-boards-cristian-mungius-1st-feature-since-4-months-3-weeks-and-2-days\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a>, the new film will be \u201c[s]et in an Orthodox convent in Romania\u201d and \u201ccenter on a young woman\u2019s descent into madness, her subsequent exorcism and the police investigation it sparks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The untitled film will be produced by Wild Bunch whose Vincent Maraval is reported by Deadline as describing the movie as a \u201cgenre film [that] has elements of <strong>4 Months<\/strong>, but with a much more intense twist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When it hit American shores at the New York Film Festival in the fall of 2007, <strong>4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days<\/strong> was hailed as a masterpiece, making numerous critics and organizations best-of-the-year lists.
