\"\"After an initial false start with the hiring<\/a> and then losing<\/a> of Lily Collins, The Evil Dead<\/strong> remake is finally getting casting underway with the announcement of two roles being filled today.<\/p>\n

Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood) has been cast in what Variety<\/a> is only referring to as one of the male lead roles. Presumably, this will be David, the brother of Mia, the young woman who is brought to an isolated cabin in the woods in an attempt to get her to kick a drug addiction. Things go wrong when the group unwittingly awaken an evil supernatural force that attacks them. Collins casting was presumably for the role of Mia.<\/p>\n

Taking over for Collins may be Jane Levy, whom Deadline<\/a> is reporting as being in talks for the part. She doesn\u2019t have much in the way of a resume outside of the TV series Suburgatory and the upcoming film Fun Size but her relative unknown status could be a boon for the role.<\/p>\n

With it appearing as if the two main leads have been pinned down, first-time feature director Fede Alvarez still has to cast the part of David\u2019s fianc\u00e9e and the other friends who accompany the group on their ill-fated journey.<\/p>\n

I would expect that the rest of the cast will come together rather quickly in order to keep the film on track for its scheduled April 12, 2013 release.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
