And while the screenplay for that gets worked on by which ever writer Scott eventually hires, the director will be working on <strong>The Counselor<\/strong>, a legal thriller from novelist Cormac McCarthy.<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy wrote the script on spec, and it generated some excitement when it was put up for sale, with Scott becoming quickly attached to it. Normally, Scott is prone to a long period of re-writing on his projects, but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/2012\/02\/ridley-scott-commits-to-next-direct-mccarthys-the-counselor-will-michael-fassbender-play-title-role\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a> is reporting that the film \u201cmight well be traveling on the fastest track toward production of any film in recent memory\u201d with a possible May 1st production start. Deadline is also reporting that a \u201cgroup of top actors\u201d have all read the script and are clamoring to be part of the production. The only name mentioned in the article is Michael Fassbender.<\/p>\n<p>And while I am anxious to see what Scott has in mind for his <strong>Blade Runner<\/strong> follow up, any new film from the director is something to look forward to.
