The two films were heavily favored going into the annual awards with <strong>Hugo<\/strong> sporting nominations in 11 categories while <strong>The Artist<\/strong> had nominations in 10.<\/p>\n<p>You can read all the winners below.<\/p>\n<p>At 82, Christopher Plummer became the oldest Oscar recipient when he won the Best Supporting Actor for his performance in <strong>Beginners<\/strong>. As he said in his acceptance speech to the Oscar statue just handed to him, \u201cYou\u2019re only two years older than me darling. Where have you been all my life?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seemingly perennial nominee Meryl Streep won her third Academy Award for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher, the first woman Prime Minister of England in <strong>The Iron Lady<\/strong>.
