The studio has hired <strong>The Town<\/strong> screenwriter Peter Craig to pen a sequel to their 1986 hit <strong>Top Gun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Last year Cruise mentioned that he was discussing with the film&#8217;s original director Tony Scott the possibility of a returning to role of ace Navy fighter pilot &#8220;Maverick&#8221; Mitchell for a sequel and it now looks like the studio is interested as well.
