\"\"<\/a>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Perhaps one of the most accurate names of any property to come out of comics. Let’s take a second and dissect that name, shall we? The first word refers to the characters ages.They’re teenagers. Got it. Let’s look at the third word, ninja. While the characters\u00a0aren’t the stealthy, silent, kill-you-in-your-sleep type ninjas, the term does apply to their martial arts expertise. It’s close enough to let it slide.<\/p>\n

Now, let’s look at the remaining two words: Mutant Turtles. This\u00a0forms\u00a0perhaps the most descriptive phrase of the characters’ name. Those words tell you who the characters are and how they came to be. They are turtles who have been exposed to toxic waste and have\u00a0mutated into humanoid, intelligent creatures. Well, at least that was their origin.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Michael Bay, who is in someway attached to the forthcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, was speaking\u00a0at the Nickelodeon (current owners of the rights to the\u00a0Turtles)\u00a0up-fronts, where\u00a0he had this to say about the new Turtles film.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you see this movie, kids are going to believe one day these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Alien race? When I hear that I had to check the calendar to see if I slept for a week and a half last night\u00a0it was April 1st. I didn’t and it’s not. Here is a video of Bay making that very same announcement.
