\"\"<\/a>Perhaps he’s just looking for something to fill his time until Ghostbusters 3<\/strong> finally happens, but Dan Aykroyd announced yesterday on his Facebook page<\/a> that he is starting to work with Chevy Chase on the script for a comedy film.<\/p>\n

Chevy (Chase) and I are about to start work on a script concept for a comedy movie. Cannot say too much about the concept, but the joy of working with him again is one that I am extremely excited about. Chevy is one of my favourite people, and one of the great anarchistic and physically committed comedians in the business.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course the two of them rose to prominence together as part of the original cast on NBC’s now venerable Saturday Night Live<\/em>. Both were able to launch successful, for a time, film careers from their work on SNL<\/em> and they even starred together in the John Landis-directed spy comedy Spies Like Us<\/strong>. While I don’t think that film was either of their best work, it is far from their worst, though their second pairing, the 1991 Nothing But Trouble<\/strong>, is a little bit further down the scale. Neverheless, I would welcome seeing the two of them on screen together.<\/p>\n

Ironically, it was Bill Murray who has been the key factor in Ghostbusters 3<\/strong> not happening and supposedly Murray had punched Chase in the nose when the later came back to host an episode of SNL<\/em> about two years after he left the show early in its second season. That probably has no bearing on this collaboration, but I thought I’d throw that fun coincidence in anyway, make of it what you will.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
