Back in August, we reported that although a year had passed since the last releases in the series, Twentieth Century Fox home video had not abandoned their Fox Noir DVD line.<\/p>\n
Fox has finally officially announced that the next three titles in the series – Black Widow<\/strong> (1954), Dangerous Crossing<\/strong> (1953) and Daisy Kenyon<\/strong> (1947) – will hit store shelves on March 11, 2008.<\/p>\n Black Widow<\/strong> features a couple of actors playing against type- Ginger Rogers as a not as innocent as she appears aspiring Broadway writer and George Raft temporarily working for the good guys as a police detective investigating Rogers’ murder. Also, keep an eye out for a young Aaron Spelling in one of his few acting roles before he turned writer and eventually, multi-millionaire producer.<\/p>\n Jeanne Craine stars in Dangerous Crossing<\/strong> as a new bride whose husband disappears off the boat soon after they have started their honeymoon cruise. Worse, no one saw him board the boat with her and his name is not on the passenger list.<\/p>\n Daisy Kenyon<\/strong> seems more melodrama than noir with its tale of Joan Collins being torn between the love offered by Henry Fonda and her love for the married Dana Andrews.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, there is no word on the fate of Elia Kazan’s Boomerang!<\/strong> (1947) which was yanked from release just days before its scheduled August, 2006 release. No reason was given for the recall. Some copies still managed to get out and the disc has been available for rental on Netflix and for purchase through Amazon’s second-hand sellers for anyone willing to spend between $50 and $90.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
