\"\"<\/a>It’s been nearly a quarter of a century since Robert DeNiro first tried comedy in the action comedy Midnight Run<\/strong>. And it is looking like his bounty hunter character of Jack Walsh is coming back to the big screen in a sequel from Universal. Unfortunately, the bad news is that the studio is in negotiations with Rush Hour<\/strong> and X-Men 3<\/strong> director Brett Ratner to helm the film.<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/a> is reporting that in addition to Ratner coming on board, David Elliot and Paul Lovett have been brought in to do a rewrite on the script. Previously, the duo have written the action film Four Brothers<\/strong> and had done some work on G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As of now, there s no word if Charles Grodin will reprise his character of a mob accountant whom DeNiro’s bounty hunter character transports across the country, though the retired actor has indicated<\/a> that he would be interested in returning if they wanted him.<\/p>\n
