\"\"<\/a>Robert DeNiro has been a driving force behind the Tribeca Film Festival since its founding a decade ago. So it is no surprise that they were able to get him to participate in a panel discussion about the 100th anniversary of Universal Studios. The discussion,moderated by director Judd Apatow, managed to range across the length and breadth of the iconic actor’s career. One of the subjects that briefly came up was his announced return to his bounty hunter character Jack Walsh from the 1988 action comedy Midnight Run<\/strong>. According to The Wrap, DeNiro didn’t say much except confirm that the script was currently being worked on and then proceeded to give out a small morsel of what that screenplay will cover.<\/p>\n

The follow-up would see him helping out the son of the embezzling accountant played by Charles Grodin in the first film. The script is still in development, De Niro said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Interesting, and it sounds to me that in terms of plot they are covering their bases depending on whether or Grodin decides to come out of retirement to participate in the film. He could play an integral role in the story, show up for a quick cameo or any thing in between.<\/p>\n

Additionally, DeNiro stated that he would be welcome to returning to any of his other well known characters including Raging Bull<\/strong>‘s Jake LaMotta if the “script was good.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
