{"id":20,"date":"2007-08-08T16:14:00","date_gmt":"2007-08-08T20:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/?p=20"},"modified":"2012-11-04T11:47:34","modified_gmt":"2012-11-04T15:47:34","slug":"witchfinders-guardian-angels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2007\/08\/08\/witchfinders-guardian-angels\/","title":{"rendered":"WITCHFINDER&#8217;s Guardian Angels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Next month will see the DVD release of the 1968 Vincent Price classic <strong>Witchfinder General<\/strong> (originally released in the United States as <strong>The Conqueror Worm<\/strong>) and fans of the film will have much more on the disc than the usual paltry extras MGM provides for its \u201cMidnight Movies\u201d line of cult film releases, thanks to the folks over at <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cinemaretro.com\/index.php?\/archives\/253-CINEMA-RETRO-PAVES-THE-WAY-FOR-WITCHFINDER-GENERAL-SPEC-EDITION.html\">CinemaRetro<\/a><\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out that following the magazine\u2019s extensive coverage of the film &#8211; including an interview with producer Philip Waddilove \u2013 in their fifth issue, Waddilove suggested that the magazine forward a couple copies of the issue to the Fox\/MGM home video division along with a request that the company think about making the release a special edition. Fast forward to the presen, with the DVD coming to stores sporting such features as a commentary track with Waddilove and co-star Ian Ogilvy and a featurette on the film.<\/p>\n<p>Witchfinder General is just one of many Vincent Price DVDs hitting the shelves on September 11.
