\"\"<\/a>The Avengers<\/strong> is still packing them in at theaters, but come the end of September you can watch it over and over in the comfort of your own home theater as the film comes to home video on the 25th of that month.<\/p>\n

Details are starting to hit as to what the package will consist of and there are certainly a number of cool and interesting special features. My thoughts after the run down –<\/p>\n

Well, we knew that there was definitely going to some deleted and extended scenes, but I find it intriguing that the alternate opening and endings are subtitled “Maria Hill Interrogation.” That hints, to me at least, that director Joss Whedon had an entirely different narrative structure set up for the film with it being a flashback being told by Hill under interrogation or by whomever she may be interrogating. It is also exciting to see that there ismore material in the scene between Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and the security guard played by Harry Dean Stanton. It seemed odd to me to have Stanton show up for such a small role, so it’ll be good to see some more.It is also nice to see that they have another “Marvel One-Shot” short film. Will it be the last time we see Agent Coulson?<\/p>\n

I think the only downside to this release is that there is only one commentary track. While it is true Whedon does great commentary tracks, it certainly would have been fun to hear all the main actors – Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johansson – together talking about the production.<\/p>\n

There are also rumors starting to swirl that there is a possible 10-disc set on the way that would gather all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies into one big box, but I would take this with a grain of salt as the movies are actually split across two different distributors, Paramount and Disney.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
