\"\"<\/a>James Cameron has been plugging away at some sequels to Avatar<\/strong> for the past few years and has even used the excuse that he was conducting research for the films when he took that little jaunt to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean recently. But is he actually close to reuniting the film’s cast in front of the cameras for a return to the moon Pandora? Avatar<\/strong> cast member Sigourney Weaver seems to think so and is stating that she plans on reporting for work this fall.<\/p>\n

Weaver made the statement to Showbiz 411<\/a>‘s Roger Friedman while doing the press rounds for her new USA Network series Political Animals<\/em>.<\/p>\n

When \u201cPolitical Animals\u201d finishes shooting, see if you can follow Weaver\u2019s schedule: she goes right into a new Christopher Durang play for a short run at Lincoln Center. Then she films \u201cAvatar\u201d 2, 3, and 4 with James Cameron. That\u2019s right: they\u2019re making three sequels to the blue 3D phenom all at the same time. Weaver says she has no idea how long it will take, or how it\u2019s going to work. \u201cI just show up,\u201d she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One would think that Weaver is a credible source on this, so I am inclined to believe it. We know that Weaver has stated<\/a> that she has already read an early draft of the scripts for Parts 2 and 3 and she knows how her character who died in the first film will come back. But even if this is the start date for the films, given the amount of post-production work needed to completely realize them I still figure it will be at least the end of 2014 at the earliest before the first one could possibly be released.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
